Reopening update

Tyne & Wear Archives is now able to accept new copying orders and paid research requests. Although the searchroom remains closed to the public, staff can now access finding aids and collections.

Access to original documents is not currently available. If you have an urgent request, please email with as much information about your deadlines and requirements, and staff will be delighted to advise you on the best course of action.

Although limited services are now available, staff are also working hard to make sure everything is in place to welcome visitors back to the archives searchroom.  The opening date has not been confirmed - but this will be in the autumn.

Tyne & Wear Archives continue to work towards relaunching the full range of services. This may be subject to occasional disruption or delay at short notice, for which we apologise in advance.
